Ron Talbot Art Exhibition
The Sands Torquay is proud to present the work of local artist Ron Talbot, throughout August, on display in our main hallway.

A founding member of Hoop Gallery and dedicated artist for over 25 years, Ron has spent his career championing creativity and opportunity for fellow artists across the arts sector. His passion extends well beyond his own practice: he is the driving force behind the Talburac Art Prize, a philanthropic initiative he established to elevate emerging talent and energise the local arts community.
The name "Talburac" carries a deeply personal story. It's drawn from a beloved rural property near Winchelsea, where Ron and his late wife Andre spent years cultivating 30 acres of gardens, orchards and lake views. The name blends the Talbot and Burgess family names, with a nod to nearby towns like Colac, Moriac and Coragulac. It was on this land that Ron and Andre built a life shaped by curiosity, ambition and creative energy, values that continue to inform Ron's art and his advocacy for other artists today.
We're delighted to welcome Ron's work to The Sands this month. Come wander through the main hallway and experience a body of work shaped by decades of creative dedication and a genuine love for community and connection through art.
